Activities
Our residents enjoy the opportunity to spend time with men and women their own age, people who share their interests and values. Also, Emmanuel House residents have the opportunity to become involved in community activities and intergenerational programs. (Pictures and descriptions of some of these activities can be viewed on our "Residents' Photo Album" page.
Family members and friends are often invited to attend special events and holiday celebrations. Our family day picnic has become an annual event for residents, family and staff.
The Activity Department staff and volunteers work together to offer a variety of social, educational, and physical activities. Activity staff members will also visit with new residents to learn about individual interests and talents.
Scheduled activities at Emmanuel House Residence include:
- weekly shopping trips
- bingo
- movies
- bowling
- religious services
- intergenerational programs
- computer classes
- field trips
- entertainment
- crafts and handworks clubs
- cookouts on our patio (weather permitting)
Activities are scheduled on days, evenings, and weekends. A full schedule of activities is posted throughout the facility and distributed to residents.
In addition, residents may request the use of our community room or outdoor patio for special occasions, such as birthdays or anniversaries. The Activities Coordinator will make room arrangements and accommodate special requests for activity projects. |
